The MEAC is a Division I conference in the NCAA, made up of 11 HBCUs (two colleges will be moving to other conferences shortly).

NOTE: Division I schools commit more funds to their athletic programs, can participate in the NCAA DI championships and traditionally have more money available for athletic scholarships in major sports.
